Your money data is yours.
This is a placeholder policy while we get our legal copy reviewed. The principles below are the truth — the final wording will be slightly more formal.
What we collect
Only what 2Cents needs to work as an expense tracker: your email and password (passwords are hashed — we can't read them), the expenses and incomes you log, the categories and budgets you set, and the household you create or join. We don't ask for ID documents, bank logins, salary slips, or anything else.
Where it lives
On Supabase servers in Mumbai (ap-south-1). All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Stored data is encrypted at rest. Row-level security policies make sure only you and your partner can see your household's ledger — not other users, and not engineers casually browsing the database.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data. There are no advertisers.
- We don't share your expenses with anyone outside your household.
- We don't use your transactions to train AI models — yours or anyone else's.
- We don't have a "for marketing partners" loophole. We use this app ourselves; we'd be furious if a finance app pulled that on us.
What we do use it for
Showing you and your partner your shared ledger. Generating your monthly analytics. Triggering scheduled recurring transactions. Sending the occasional transactional email (verification codes, password resets, invite confirmations). That's the whole list.
Cookies and analytics
The marketing site uses no third-party tracking cookies. The product app uses a single first-party session cookie so that you stay logged in, plus aggregate, privacy-respecting analytics (page-view counts, no individual user tracking) to understand which features people actually use.
Exporting and deleting your data
A full CSV export of your household's data is available from Settings, no questions asked. To delete your account, email hi@get2cents.com from the address on your account. We'll permanently delete your profile and remove you from any households within seven days.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that affects your data, we'll email you before the change takes effect. We won't sneak it in.
